Global Business Development Manager – LSV-TECH
Is a transformative leader who is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities using various tools such as commerce, technology, diplomacy, media, and public policy. His work encompasses a wide range of areas, including the Colombia extended rainforest, education, technology, innovation, culture, and environmental protection.
One of his notable contributions is his proposal to establish an early warning system to protect the Colombia Rainforests and its inhabitants. Through a mobile app that will allow the community to report crimes against the environment or its inhabitants and the incorporation of sensors, this system also aims to detect and prevent dangerous activities against the fresh water sources in Colombia.
Additionally, Mr. Asprilla has made significant strides in education and culture by establishing the Center for Black Excellence at the University of Cartagena. In collaboration with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), this initiative focuses on strengthening research pertaining to the Afro community in Colombia while empowering their development.
In terms of his professional achievements, Mr. Asprilla is a member of the International Committee for the National Black Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves as a Business Development Manager for LSV-TECH. Furthermore, he is the Executive Director and founder of Afro Expo in Cartagena, Colombia, an event that highlights and celebrates Afro culture. He is also an Executive Committee Member of the Afro Inter-American Forum on Climate Change, working towards addressing climate change’s impact on marginalized communities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Asprilla has shown his expertise in political organizing and engagement. He has been involved in grassroots organizing, phone banking, coordinating events, and other Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts. Working with organizations such as CASA de Maryland, he has built coalitions with various stakeholders, small business owners, faith based communities, non-profit organizations, labor groups, and elected officials, to drive impactiul change and achieve record turnout.
Mr. Asprilla’s educational background includes studying International Marketing and Business Management at the University of Maryland, College Park. He has been recognized for his commitment to community service and transformational work, receiving the Prince George’s County Council’s Proclamation of Community Service and international recognition from the Afro-Colombia community.
